Community NETwork African American Telecommunications Professionals of AT&T DFW Chapter
OUR MISSION STATEMENT
To enhance the visibility, to improve opportunities and to encourage and facilitate personal and professional growth of African American employees of AT&T.
OUR FUTURE PATH ~ ALWAYS MOVING FORWARD AND UPWARD
As we move forward into 2010, the focus will be on inclusion, diversity and the professional growth of our members. As our customers’ demands for connectivity and new services continue to grow, it is vital for the success of our members that we focus on developing and understanding our role in the successful execution of connecting people with their worlds and doing it better than anyone else. We must improve our knowledge, strengthen our skills, and execute with greatness.
Throughout the year, I challenge everyone to wake each day with greatness on their minds. Such greatness, that it will accomplish both small and large goals for the company, each of you, and for our organization. I challenge you to extend a hand when it is not expected and to reach out when a hand is needed. Position, build and develop yourselves to succeed this year. There are many definitions of greatness, and through Community NETwork, we will strive to develop and deliver educational opportunities, career enhancement programs, informative and fun-filled events for a year that will be defined by greatness. Together as one, we will make 2010 one of our most impressive years to date.
Our preparation for our journey in 2009…Numbers 6:22-27, Philippians 4:13
Join us as we redefine ourselves, with programs such as a Women’s Hat & Brunch Day at Lone Star Park, the CND Men’s Breakfast, and our Golf Outing, with much, much more in store.
Throughout the year, I will be communicating with you about Diversity – its essence and connotation to us as corporate and community citizens.
Thank you all for what you do each and every day to make Community NETwork DFW Chapter grow. I’m looking forward to seeing you at our upcoming events!
At a glance, this is Community NETwork~DFW Chapter!
Each one, reach one …each one, teach one. No one can do everything, but everyone can do something!!
Community NETwork-DFW Chapter E-Board and Committee Chairs are taking our programs, committees, and events to a higher level by striving to do more, and do everything better than we ever have before. We will be reviewing, looking over, under, in between, and through everything we do with a fine-toothed comb. Our outcomes will be nothing but the best for the DFW Chapter. To that end, I have included only a sampling of our future “redefining” efforts.
· Our Newsletter: It is in the process of being revamped with the name change from e-NETwork News to NETwork NOIR. The meaning behind the selection of NETwork NOIR…. The word NETwork is the connection to our organization, Community NETwork. The word NOIR has a French origin and means black, African American. The newsletter-naming contest winner is Ms. Tonya Devoe, who is also our newly-appointed Vice President of Public Relations. Ladies and gentlemen: she has taken her committee to another level and we are working diligently to complete and publish our very first issue of NETwork NOIR. Stay tuned…
· Our CND Men’s Committee: The new co-chairs, Reggie Neely and Drel Pratt, are on their way to redefine the activities and events and to heighten the involvement of our male members, both internally and externally within our communities. Please put your seat belt on…they will be blasting off real soon.
· Lloyd Lowe, our honorary member and long-time ongoing sponsor and supporter, is also helping us to redefine our group. We now have an external website for retirees and members alike, who want to know the latest happenings of our chapter at all times.
· Last, but certainly not least, and just for you, we are expanding the number of mentoring circles with the addition of three (3) outstanding AT&T leaders Mrs. Vickie Jones, (SVP-National Customer Support), Mr. Scott Mair, (VP-GNO Service Operations), and Mr. Juan Flores (VP-U-Verse Field OPS). This expansion is another example of our chapter’s goal to continue to redefine ourselves.
I have been participating in Community NETwork for the past 20 years, and I can honestly say we have reached a new level of commitment to our members and our communities in which we work and live. Please let me know what we can do better to serve you as members of the DFW Chapter of Community NETwork. We cannot do it alone and with only a few, we need your help. Feel free to send a note or give me a call to let me know your committee selection and where you would like to serve. You, too, can help.
We are all in this together and I appreciate ALL that you do to make Community NETwork-DFW Chapter the great organization it is today and will continue to be tomorrow.
